Seeing Is Believing

Fotografiens Hus is pleased to present a major exhibition: Jean Miele’s “Seeing Is Believing.” The exhibition includes approximately twenty black-and-white photographs and will be featured at the Fotografiens Hus Gallery from May 4th to May 29th 2007.
Mr. Miele is an American artist who uses photography to create the perfect place at the perfect moment. He makes timeless images that provide access to a beautiful world we all intuitively long for, but cannot always find.

Miele has been traveling and photographing for more than twenty years: in the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Japan. Since 2003 he has visited Norway at least once a year to teach photographic workshops and to photograph the Norwegian landscape. The stunning black-and-white prints that make up this exhibition feature images made in all these places.

Miele’s photographs have been included in exhibitions throughout the United States, Western Europe, and Norway. Previous solo shows have been held at the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Soho Photo Gallery in New York. His work has also been featured at the prestigious Photo London contemporary photography fair, and in Fotografi, Norway’s premiere photography magazine. “Seeing Is Believing” Black-And-White Landscape Photographs by Jean Miele will be on display through May 29th, in downtown Oslo at Fotografiens Hus.
